A Walk with Jesus

The
bible makes clear all talking about heaven not going to heaven.

For
as it was in Israel’s wilderness, many failed to go to promised land because
had not “Fully follow Jesus”…Among other sins, Some seeing giants in land of
promised became fearful in spite of God’s promise…this certainly relates to the
fears of this day….we have a promise “Perfect love cast out all fear” yet some
fear

So
it is here in text, when the things Jesus taught got too hard for some to take,
they left off and followed him no more.

We
have seen in this bible many things hard for some to accept…so it appears many
will not be ready to be caught up with Lord when comes..

Many
will not be on first ship out,…of course, bible teaches there will be a second
ship following great tribulation, but all will not be sailing on 1^st
ship out.

For
to sail with this ship we must have “Fully followed Jesus” even thru his hard teaching.

1. First of all want sail with
   this ship of salvation…must understand that simply “Coming to Jesus” is not
   sufficient. We must know there’s a difference in “Coming to Jesus and Following
   Jesus.
2. So many today have been put
   to sleep by the gospels of error, believing, coming to Jesus was all takes to
   be saved. Sadly many are in the church, I fear sitting in the church but
   sailing nowhere….
3. For this bible teaches must
   hear the word, what like and don’t like…fully following Jesus
4. So many I fear just hanging
   round Jesus not following him.
5. A dream I had…talking with
   Bishop Jakes, who was appearing at Del State College…
   1. He agreed with me or how
      sad it was, that people could listen to the gospel Sunday after Sunday and
      still stay same…
6. See a walk with Jesus,
   beloved, calls on us to embrace change, change to become like him.
   1. Change in a time when folk
      don’t like change clothes for Jesus. Some don’t see it but if we cannot change
      clothes for him, how can we except a change of our hearts for him
   2. Calls for us to Deny
      self….put aside our ways not like according to his word….living by every word…
   3. Coming as we are but not to
      stay as we are..but change, becoming like him
7. A walk with Jesus,  calls for a willingness to forget our thots
   and what we believe and submit every thot and way to this word.
8. Things taught from youth,
   that has become a part of our belief….if not compliant with word….Change it.
   1. Paul taught it is  “ bringing into captivity every thot to
      obedience to his word.” That’s a hard saying for some…for it stands against our
      thinking.
   2. This scripture in (2 Cor.
      110:5) is why he taught we , that are fully following Jesus , must be of the
      same mind and judgment or what is right and wrong.
   3. If we as Christians
      disagree on right and wrong, somebody is not fully following  Jesus.
9. Let us not be deceived into
   thinking whatever we think is all right.
   1. Gospels tell of a certain
      man who boasted he would follow Jesus wherever he went…but I hear Jesus saying
      to him…”Are you sure, for the fox has holes , the bird her nest but…son of
      man..no where lay head.
10. Not an easy way “To walk
    with Jesus”
    1. Other’s sought to sit on
       right and left hand of Jesus…Jesus asked “Are you able to drink the cup I drink
       of?
    2. Peter, boasted, Lord I Will
       die with you, Yet, Jesus said to him…Peter maybe after while you would , but
       now if I didn’t pray for you Satan would sift you as wheat.

 Talking about walking with Jesus , let close
with this advise

Know
that “It’s a highway to heaven…and none can walk up there..”But” the pure in
heart.

That
heart OF PURE DESIRE..THAT HEART that says: I want to be like him…walk like Jesus…talk
like Jesus…teach like him…pray like him..love like him….obey the Lord like
him..

For
OH I want to see him….one day LOOK UPON HIS FACE….ON THE STREETS OF GLORY I
WANT TO LIFT MY VOICE…CARE ARE PAST…HOME….

JUST
WALKING WITH MY LORD…ON THE STREETS OF GLORY..IN THAT LAND OF UNCLOUDED
DAY…JUST OVER IN THE GLORY LAND

Text: Isa. 54: 13-17 & 65: 17 

Thot: a New Creature for a New Creation

Readiness for the new thing God has done

Review text: (Isa. 54: 13-17) These verses teach:

1. We are protected by God until we are what and where he his purposed us to be

2. Even his school children killed last week in New York….for he promised no weapon…etc.

3. So we are saved from wrath even in death.

   1. Death swallowed up in victory

   2. David’s valley of death

   3. Guaranteed protection for ungodly laws of Delaware and nation

4. His protection is the Heritage of his Saints…His servants

5.  Jew, Gentile, African whoever it be that will come to Jesus and be saved…destined to become New Creatures in Christ

6. It is our heritage, our inheritance, left in the:

   1. Irreversible, Irrepealable, Undisputable, Undebatable, Un-contestable, will of God

   2. Wills can be contested in courts, but this will is uncontestable ..guaranteed by the Word forever settled in the heavens.

The day comes: all be taught of God…the end of worlds ignorance and foolish talking , God promised in Ps 12 He would cut off the lying tongue that says with our words we will prevail.,,,the ignorance of fools that say there is no God

    2. Example of foolish talk: there is . “No substitute for it” because it is full of vitamins of fruits veggies…so what our gardens full of such…and how did babies survive before this scientific formula…another example of the ignorance of man without Godly knowledge.

And they who seek Godly knowledge, God will teach even if wrong,he will teach you right.

3. And the end of evil’s of this world, which will come to its end…but the New earth, His new Creation will be established, brought up, reared up in RIGHTEOUSNESS..oh, what a glorious day that will be and that “Verses teach “Is of God”.

4. For men of God’s New World, will not hold their own idea of righteousness. 

    a. The righteousness learned of their education

b. Taught by parents…by their peers..what we think if right has no place in His New creation.

No! won’t do …His children will like the Apostle Paul….”Dressed not in his own righteousnesd, but in His righteousness alone………FAULTLESS TO STAND BEFORE THRONE

We further read of our heritage in Isa. 65: 17-2 ..Walk with me thru this revelation of a new age

Oh, what a day that will be

The Lion lying with the Lamb…Oh what a wonderful day twill be.

Makes me hunger for that promised land….for there is a land that is fairer than day..and by faith we can see if afar

Our Father waits, just over the sea..to prepare us a dwelling place there. One, called it “That sweet bye and bye, where we shall rest of that beautiful shore….

Rest, Wonderful rest…Rest glorious rest..Rest.

Text: Prov. 3: 1-12

Thot: A fathers Instructions

A Father who loves his children give instructions on the life they live

We are admonished to “Hear the instruction of our fathers” and it is to be noted, the Father of Father’s is the Lord.

I’m going to be speaking today for scriptures found in the book of Exodus, the 17th,19th and 20th chapters of that book

In which we find the historical account of Moses and the children of Israel on their way to the promised land.

In 17th chapter, Israel if found in bitter complaint

     There is no water and we will perish

     Moses talked to God about it, saying these people about to stone me to death.

     God tells Moses to smite a rock and water came forth and their thirst was quenched. 

     Moses called that place Meribah because Israel had tempted the Lord, saying: (Is the Lord among us or not?

     Anytime God’s children question the presence of God, they are tempting Him. (That is to put God to the test) which is an insult to the integrity of God that he would be less than his promise, with you always

Now this historical story of Israel, teaches how to get from bondage to the land of promise..The answer is: follow the instructions of God., who can and will lead you there.

Not going to take you somewhere and not keep you on the way.

You’ve heard of the 40 year journey in a wilderness, in which many perished because they did not follow God’s instructions…his commandments.

IN 19th chapter; The story today finds Moses, as Israel camped before Mt. Sinai, 

Moses went up to the Mountain at the call of God, who sends a message to the people.

Remind the people, How I brought you up out of Egypt to myself.

Reminds me on this pilgrim journey, God is bringing  us unto himself.

So now, If you will hear my voice and keep my covenant, you will be a peculiar treasure above all people, forget not, all the earth is mine.

Now some foolishly hate Israel for this cause, God placing them above all others.

I’m glad not to be one of them, hating Israel, for you see, I too am  peculiar , having been chosen in Christ to share with Israel in that special position.

God, now tells Moses, I will come to thee in a thick cloud upon Mt. Sinai, 

I will down in the sight of all the people, only command that none come up the Mt. or touch it or they will surly die.

Just command they sanctify and  wash themselves and Moses would lead them out of the camp to meet God at the mount.

Don’t ell me God does not care what you look or smell like…

It was on the third day morning, there came thunder storm and a thick dark cloud on the mt.

And a strange mysterious sound of a trumpet. No band playing, radio or stero, just a mysterious exceeding loud sound of the trumpet.

And as the people came, the Mt. went up in smoke and quaked greatly, the Lord descended on the Mt. as fire . at the sight and sound of the trumpet , the people feared greatly

IN 20th chapter, It was there on Mt. Sinai, God calls Moses up the Mt. and spoke to the people saying

Expound on the 10 commandments. (Verses 1-20)

Notes:

1. Anything put before him is a god

2. God’s name in vain…make hard look at TV…Mother tells daughter not to use Lord’s name in vain…she said Mom  “it’s just a saying” Mom said it is also a commandment. Need more mothers like that.

3. The sabbath and the Blessing of the Sabbath 

   1. There is nothing special about the 7th day that we can see

   2. Always sunny, no storms, no crime, no, nothing special

   3. The blessing of the day is only to those who keep it.

   4. Any day you set apart for God, is your sabbath.

4. The promise of long life….nothing can take this from you …

5. Thou shall not kill….Revelation peace taken and they will kill

   1. This does not mean death  sentence to those who commit murder

   2. Jesus and thief on cross, one seemed worthy of death.

6. Adultery: The woman’s body not her own to do as please

7. Covet is to “Desire to have for self that which belongs to others”

Vs 18-20 : The people feared….Fear not God is come to prove you, that you sin not.

That’s what it’s all about…to learn on way to promised land where there will be no sin.

Sin born in the heavens with Satan, passed on thru Adam in Eden, to produce a world of sin and shame

Sin: The result of disobedience to God’s law

Sin: That mads perfect man a imperfect Adam 

Sin: That Kept Israel in a wandering wilderness 40 yrs, 

Sin: That sold the Prince of peace for just 30 pieces of silver

Sin: that fashioned a cruel cross to crucify a good man.

Sin: that found me so many years, knowing not my Lord was crucified, knowing not it was for me he died…at Calvary

Sin. That that infected the world with and incurable disease

No Mask, no prescription, no vaccine, only the Blood of the Savior

The Anecdote that ran down Calvary’s hill

What one asked “Can match the blood of a dying sinner but the blood of a dying Savior

Another asked: What can wash away my sin….what can make me whole again!

NOTHING…NOTHING….NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD

Oh, I’[m glad “The blood done signed my name..oh, the blood

Text: 1 Peter 4:12,13 & 1 Peter 1:6,7

Sub. Faith under Fire

Lesson today is to encourage every Christian  who may be enduring any kind of suffering and going thru any unpleasant experiences

That as scripture teaches: don’t be alarmed or frightened for It is a fiery trial that we go thru to try your faith, we are told to rejoice in the fact that we are chosen to partake in the suffering of Christ that we will be exceedingly glad when his glory appears.

Know Peter reminds us that this trial of our faith is more precious to us than any amount of silver or gold…that’s precious.

Silver and gold will perish but our faith will live on to the glory of God.

Now why our faith is such a fiery trial…is because of Satan’s attempt for us to be found unpleasing to God and unworthy and unready of eternal life.

The truth we must understand is: That as nothing in world comes free…..so it is with even our testimony.

What you say and believe will be “Challenged” by Satan, when you put it to practice, Satan does not care what you say as long as you don’t mean it….but when you put it to practice by faith…you make yourself subject to the challenge of Satan.

Children choir used to sing…be careful little eyes what you see, little ears what you hear and little mouth what you say…for Satan is listening in on your every conversation

I once said some many years ago, something I thot at times to take back, but being acquainted with the word…I understood its bad to start something with God you can’t finish

I said like Job…in a difficult time in my life…”Tho he slay me yet shall I trust him” wished at times never said that…but I did and since I did may as well stick with it and even today I say same thing, in all my trials…”tho he slay me yet will. I trust him…

Satan may challenge it as he will….but I won’t take it back.

Now James in his 1st epistle…admonished us to “Count it all joy when fall into various temptations…temptations that often come with such a heavy weight 

The question is: How can we have joy in midst of misery, the answer is found that our joy is not in the troubles but in knowing….it is for good purpose.

That “Good Purpose” is the perfecting of a needed faith…without no man can please God

You see God has great things in mind for his children, in our eternal existance.

Shared with Bible class, Wed…a overlooked and unthought of verse in the Revelation that tells us. “John saw and angel standing in the Sun, a sun so hot nothing on earth can get near it.

The lesson tells us : Why we who shall become angels, need a perfected faith 

An angel so endowed with faith in his word ..able to stand in the sun and not burn up.

Now God gives us a perfect example of the challenge of our faith in the story of Job. (Tell his story) His faith challenged by Satan.

But he stood up to the challenge….in spite of a unbelieving wife and unhelpful friends…heard to say “ON all the days of my appointed time “I’ll wait till my change come and I know my change will come.

And we cannot forget the example of Jesus….Who’s faith was challenged in Gethsemane. With thoughts of  the dread agony of the Cross he was to face

There in agony its written he prayed, saying “Father remove this bitter cup”
Oh..but if it is your will….I’ll drink it up….The faith of the very son of God…challenged.

Faith challenged on the Cross….as cruel crowd stood around mocking him…There is no doubt in my mind..that Satan did challenge his faith..telling him they are not worthy of your sacrifice…You’re the son of God, come on down off that cross, this kind of treatment does not befit who you are..

But he who could have called 10,000 angels to come to his side…stood the challenge ….hung there and died for you and Me.

Yes, this was Jesus who had said in the heavens…seeing the need of a world of lost sinners, Lord if you prepare me a body I’ll go…

At 12 years old…heard to say to parents….”I must be about my father’s business

This Jesus…..faith was challenged in Gethsemane and hanging on Calvary’s Cross.

Hear him calling “My God, MY God why has thou forsaken me….

Yes, like Jesus, this life we live…this road we are called to travel find our faith under fire daily….trials dark on each and every hand..

In our many illnesses….Faith under fire…..Trouble that comes with such a heavy weight….Faith under fire

Sometime have to give up the right for the wrong….Faith under fire

Times when don’t know which way to turn…Faith under fire

Times may feel all alone..thinking  “Nobody knows the trouble I see”:…Faith

But, Yet as my Lord said on Calvary…”If such thy will I’ll drink it up”

I hear the hymnwriter saying…

Must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease

While others fought to win the prize and sailed thru briny tears

No, I must fight if I would win…just increase my courage Lord

Give me courage to stand, till standing day over down here

Give me strength to face every situation with a smile

For Lord I started to walk in the light….

Shining upon me from heaven so bright

I’ll take the way with the Lord’s despised few…I started and I’m going thru.

Let say to you today..Fight on Good Soldiers …fight on

Paul said “It’s a good fight .

Fite on…there is a great camp meeting in promised land

No more sorrow, nor sadness, nor trouble I’ll see

Just peace love and joy in that land where we’re bound

Text: (1 Sam 13: 13,14)

Sub. The Rejected and the Accepted

Last Wed we traveled to see the play: “David” which was the impetus of today’s message.

Israel in our text was once a Theocracy, meaning it had God as it’s ruler and governing authority.

The Prophet Samuel was God’s appointed Judge of Israel, the dispenser of the law in God’s behalf.

1.The people complained to him they wanted a King

1. Complained Samuel old and son’s worthless men
2. A displeased Samuel , tells God of their complaining
3. God consoles the Prophet…they are not rejecting you , but me
4. God consents, do as they wish, but warn them the manner of a King who whose rules and manner they will not like.
5. Your sons and daughters will be their servants, your fields will feed his table and do as it pleases him.

Note: It is problem with world today, man chose to govern himself without God and we see what it means to have rulers doing what pleases them.

5. However, a man called Saul was chosen as King of Israel
6. Said of God Saul was a good man, above others none like him
7. This character shown, as the people sought to crown him, they had to find him, he hid himself and God had to reveal his hiding place.
8. Now as story unfolds in passing of time, Saul disobeyed God’s command
9. He had been warned before he was crowned yet how often we are found in disobedience to God even tho we are warned of the consequence.
10. And before a coming battle with the Philistine armies. Saul was to wait until the Prophet Samuel came, who had said he would be there in 7 days.
11. Now remember Samuel the judge of Israel was the word of God….and he did not show up at the appointed time
12. Saul takes upon himself as only a Priest could do, to offer a burnt sacrifice, before the battle.
13. As soon as he did so, Samuel arrived….and Rebuked him for what he had done

Note: Beloved, Even tho, Samuel did not show up as promised, the lesson from text is sometimes we must wait on the Lord. We must not go before the Lord, If told you to wait on him, wait until you have new instructions.

It’s that old song: “May not come when you want him, but be on time”

And tho Saul may have thot this a small matter, considering the impending war and his care for Israel.

But there is no small matters, when it comes to obedience to God. Obedience to Him is so important that He is even hard in small matters of disobedience.

12. Now, hear me, God had described Saul as a goodly man above all others.
13. The story tells us even good men can become bad men, it only takes unforgiven disobedience to God to turn from good to bad.
14. Having disobeyed God, His Kingdom Taken
15. He was replaced by a young man, David, a man God said was after his own .

       Heart.

15. David…a shepherd boy , who had slain the Philippine giant….killed loins and bears
16. David who had killed thousands in battle.
17. David who had united the tribes of Israel

16 But sadly it was this David, a man after God’s own heart, who committed a more grievous and greater sin than king Saul before him.

1. Had his loyal servant Uriah killed, that he might legally have his wife.
2. In spite of all he had, wife, concubines, ladies in waiting, everything one could want..yet he wanted the one thing Uriah had, his wife.
3. David a man after God’s heart had become Murderer.
4. Now the question and pertinent lesson of the text is”
5. How could God call a Murderer a man after His heart?
6. Could the God of all the earth have mistaken the character of David?

Well, knowing God as I have come to learn, I do not believe he is a God given to mistake or error….

So, why would he allow David to continue as King, having done worst than Saul?

Why was Saul kingship rejected and David Accepted?

Well it pleases us to know that God did not accept the sins of either king

Saul lost his kingdom, his life and his son Jonathan

And David paid with the death of his ill-gained son by Bathsheba

He was later betrayed by his own son, The evil of the sword would never leave his house…was God’s punishment, the house of Davis yet suffering violence today.

So what was the reason of  his rejection of Saul as King and allowing David to continue as King?

The reason is found in His Appointment of David to replace Saul

David was said to be a man after His own heart

The heart of God we find is best described as a  heart of “Tenderness’

Which accounts for his great Mercy and Grace

His tender heart suffers long with sins of men, that none should perish.

So it was David, with a heat like God’s, unlike King Saul who without repentance  fought and sought to kill keep his kingdom.

Who repented of His sins, repeatedly in his book of Psalms we learn of the tender heart of David…crying out to God, Lord give me a clean heart…oh, that I might serve Thee..I’m not worthy of least of your favor but give me a clean heart that I might serve Thee.

A clean heart, clean in every way, clean in every Thought, clean in every act and deed….clean

Man, Children  looks on outer appearance but God looks on the character of the heart.

My beloved, after learning the story of Saul and David

All of us should ask with the hymnologist….”Is your heart right with God”?

Have you been cleansed and made Holy, Right in sight of God

Can we honestly say today there is nothing between my soul and my Savior

That I have renounced all sinful pleasure,

That is what gets us in trouble with God…Sinful pleasures

In closing: Bible tells us: there is no excuse to allow sinful pleasure to be disobedient to his word

To disrupt your good relationship with the father

To turn from good to bad…from being accepted to rejected

For he promised, Promised, in my weakness He’d be my strength

All we must do is

Trust and obey, oh yes there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus than to TRUST AND OBEY.

Thot. Thanking God for the New Creature that I am

Had another sermon for today, but I had forgotten it was Thanksgiving Sunday

But God did not and I awakened yesterday morning with a message more fitting this time…His “Thanksgiving message”

Found myself waking up reminiscing over my past, the good and bad I’d done, thanking God for being kind enough to save me, thinking, pondering over the change having taken place in my life and how it came to be.

Why no longer wanting to do things I used to do, go places used to go….act like used to act…no longer a desire to do things of the past.

The answer to my wondering, The Spirit seemed to tell me…. it happens when the WORD becomes a PART of you, that makes you the new creature you are

OH, the difference it will make in your life when the Word becomes a part of you

The Spirit has lead me to learn, there is a difference in “Just, Hearing the word, believing the word, studying the word, even witnessing or teaching the word. Yes, even trying best to live the word.

For the Word of God is designed not simple to be an OUTER INFUENCE BUT AN INNER BEING, A PART OF YOUR VERY PERSONEL BEING.

Now some may as Nicodemus, ask, How can this thing be? Well let me explain.

To those of us who taught as I also did, that the Word was just something we “LEARN AND DO”

But It has been clearly revealed to me, by the Spirit and by personal experience in my walk with God

That this WORD is designed to become a  part of your very DNA. DNA we are told is the genetic information that makes up our heredity , inherited gender,  traits and character from birth..

As message unfolds here you will understand this

And in passing, a message To those today who don’t know rather a man or woman, need understand that was determined before you were born by the God that created you.

The recent law passed in congress to legalize same sex marriage is against the Word of God, and our country will live to rue its deed.

Want you to think with me about a SEED .

A seed that we learned must be first be planted, die and grow.

Jesus tells of this seed, being planted in souls of men and that seed that found good soil in the soul brought forth the fruit of its kind.

Now before you were born, you were a chosen soul, in which the seed of God would be planted.

This seed beloved is the LIVING WORD OF GOD, listen to scripture instructing about this Word

(Heb. 10:16) In days to come I will put my law MY Word in their hearts and WRITE my words upon their minds.

Paul speaks in Rome of the Gentiles that show the works of the WORD written in their hearts

The Word written in the hearts is the Word that has become a part of you….and is made known as a part of your DNA, YOU

Now why is there a difference in Christian growth. No, all Christians are not equal in their spiritual development.

For like any seed it must grow…and this seed must grow until it becomes like Jesus Christ, for every seed planted, GROWS FORTH AFTER ITS OWN KIND.

So as we grow we become more and more like Jesus, (the seed)

You commence to Act more like him, talk like him, love like him, be truthful like him, hated sin like him

AS this seed in you takes root and grows you will find yourself, even as I have

Hating yourself , that is your old self and its selfish and ungodly ways.

It’s nothing to be alarmed about….ITS THE NEW CREATURE THAT YOU ARE

So today at the EVE of this THANKSGIVING…I AM THANFUL FOR THAT NEW CREATURE THAT I AM

FOR WHEN YOU SEE ME

            WALKING RIGHT…IT’S THE WORD

            WHEN SEE ME…TALKING RIGHT ..ITS THE WORD

            WHEN SEE ME HATING SIN…IT’S THE WORD

            WHEN SEE ME NOT DOING THINGS I  USED TO DO…IT’S THE WORD

            WHEN SEE ME SHUNNING THE UNGODLY THINGS OF THE WORLD…IT’S THE

THE WORD THAT LIVES, ABIDES ON THE  INSIDE OF ME…

YES I’M THANKFUL, FOR HIS BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE, THANKFUL FOR THE MOON THAT LIGHTS THE MIDNIGHT SKY

THANKFUL FOR THE BEAUTY OF THE FALL LEAVES THAT ADORN THE LANDSCAPE, THANKFUL EVEN FOR THE COOL WINTY BREEZE THAT BRINGS THE BEAUTY OF THE SNOWDROPS FROM HEAVEN…THANKFUL

FOR MY HEALTH AND STRENGTH, THANKFUL, FOR MY DAILY BREAD, THANKFUL

BUT MOST OF ALL I THANK YOU FOR THAT NEW CREATURE THAT I A,M

THANKFUL FOR THE WORD, THAT HOLY SPIRIT THAT CAME UPON ME  LIKE  DEWDROPS FROM HEAVEN

/

SO IN CLOSING…GO ON AHEAD OH HOLY SPIRIT…. GO ON AND LIVE IN ME….

TAKE OVER, TAKE CONTROL OF  MY LIFE …FOR I’M YOURS LORD, EVERYTHING I AM,

EVERYTHING I’M NOT, I’M YOURS LORD, JUST TRY ME UNTIL I’M COMEPLETELY YOURS.

Thot. Thanking God for the New Creature that I am

Had another sermon for today, but I had forgotten it was Thanksgiving Sunday

But God did not and I awakened yesterday morning with a message more fitting this time…His “Thanksgiving message”

Found myself waking up reminiscing over my past, the good and bad I’d done, thanking God for being kind enough to save me, thinking, pondering over the change having taken place in my life and how it came to be.

Why no longer wanting to do things I used to do, go places used to go….act like used to act…no longer a desire to do things of the past.

The answer to my wondering, The Spirit seemed to tell me…. it happens when the WORD becomes a PART of you, that makes you the new creature you are

OH, the difference it will make in your life when the Word becomes a part of you

The Spirit has lead me to learn, there is a difference in “Just, Hearing the word, believing the word, studying the word, even witnessing or teaching the word. Yes, even trying best to live the word.

For the Word of God is designed not simple to be an OUTER INFUENCE BUT AN INNER BEING, A PART OF YOUR VERY PERSONEL BEING.

Now some may as Nicodemus, ask, How can this thing be? Well let me explain.

To those of us who taught as I also did, that the Word was just something we “LEARN AND DO”

But It has been clearly revealed to me, by the Spirit and by personal experience in my walk with God

That this WORD is designed to become a  part of your very DNA. DNA we are told is the genetic information that makes up our heredity , inherited gender,  traits and character from birth..

As message unfolds here you will understand this

And in passing, a message To those today who don’t know rather a man or woman, need understand that was determined before you were born by the God that created you.

The recent law passed in congress to legalize same sex marriage is against the Word of God, and our country will live to rue its deed.

Want you to think with me about a SEED .

A seed that we learned must be first be planted, die and grow.

Jesus tells of this seed, being planted in souls of men and that seed that found good soil in the soul brought forth the fruit of its kind.

Sub. I’s this Jesus in you

1. Text tells of this Jesus living in you “ Have you got him?
2. Beginning in the bosom of God as the “Word of God”
   1. This Word “Jesus” became flesh…in Bethlehem
   2. Went on to Calvary to be Born in us “to become our very life”
3. The thot for my sermon today came as I awakened yesterday morning
   1. Got up Feeling like I was passing on over
   2. Laid back down, prayed until I began to feel better
   3. Thinking what this was all about..having felt like was 21 Friday
   4. Thot of going to pray with our Dec. Mack, trying to encourage him by the word of God as well as others
   5. And as began to feel myself again, the thought was impressed upon my mind, that I must take of the prescriptions I give to others, that I might know for certain this word is true and we can depend upon it
   6. I thot of Jesus and how bible says He was tempted in all ways as you and I, yet sinned not
   7. See for me to tell you, you can make it, I myself must know I can make it
   8. To tell you he is a healer, I myself must know he is a healer
   9. To encourage you to know he’s your friend, I must know him as a friend
   10. And to tell you he hears your prayers, I must experience him answering my prayers.
   11. You see like Jesus, we cannot tell what we don’t know…and have not experienced
4. So, while lying there thinking; Spirit led me to greater understanding.
5. Listen carefully: WE TALK OF HOW WE HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND WE SHOULD
6. But God has let me know it goes further than that…..
   1. Having faith in Him all we must do is lay back and let God do it
   2. Problem with that limited faith, we’re alright as long as God moves in a hurry, but when heaven’s quiet in your time of urgent need, then we get full of anxiety, fearful, troubled…uncertain of our well being
7. But there is a higher calling of Faith God is calling us to.
   1. It goes like this: Not only having faith in God but having FAITH IN THE TRUTH OF HIS WORD
   2. And what does that mean…it means we must believe every word that comes from mouth of God
8. That is the difference in mere Faith in God, one sits back and lets God and hopes he’s on time, the greater act of faith….calls upon us to do something
9. What? Believe and Trust in the TRUTH OF THIS WORD..

• That is what I had to do yesterday, as Devil would have me fear I was passing on or had to end up at the hospital
• I had to put to practice what I preach, put to practice, His word
• That told me, The length of my days is in his hands, I have no need to fear anything for “The Lord is the strength of my life..and nothing , nothing can harm me, take me, kill me without his consent and if he consents its alright with me…for I am my Lords and he is mine.
• The Devil hearing that truth from my mouth took his fiery dart and left.
• Now this word you don’t have to search to find it, for Jesus said it is near thee, even in thy mouth all you got to do is believe, trust and speak it.
• See it’s This Jesus, “the living word of God, living in you”
• And that’s where God wants you. Putting to work the truth of the word in your life
• And let me tell you why…God made it known, “My spirit will not always strive “toil, contend or quarrel with men”
  1. Oh, how the Spirit must teach, correct, lead , guide, not always
• So like a parent that is happy with that child grows up, old enough to take care of itself…”SO IS THE WILL OF GOD, THAT WE GROW IT TO STAND ON OWN TWO FEET, SO TO SPEAK, live on our own…
• And only way we can grow up to care for self is to learn to have complete trust in THE TRUTH OF HIS WORD ON THE INSIDE OF YOU
• Now we can understand why God said he will put my law, complete word in our inward parts and write it upon our hearts.(Jer. 31:33)
• It is the will of God for his children living in eternity.
• Grown enough, trusting the truth of Word, not to become as fallen angels
• Trust we have gotten the message…Like our heart the beats within is our
• life…so must the WORD within become our life.
• Let leave you with a little timely story, perhaps heard, but it’s the story of the “Little Oak Tree”
• IN the forest among many big strong oak trees, grew up this little splin’ly oak.
• Like many children who wish to be grown, always big enough to do a grownup’s job….this little oak now and then cried out “I’m a oak tree.
  1. To this a big oak next to it, said; No you are not an oak tree yet
  2. But as rains and storms came upon the forrest
  3. The little oak growing taller would cry “I’m an oak tree”
  4. The big oak would look down saying, “No not a oak tree yet”
  5. But one day there came a great wind storm thru the forrest
  6. The branches of the Mighty oaks whipped to and fro with the wind, and the little oak bowed but did not break
  7. After the storm ceased, the big oak looked down and said, “Now you are an oak tree.”

God is looking for you and I to become big strong Oak Trees, Trees of God’s making

Grown strong in the power of his might

Remaining unbowed and unbent thru the turbulent winds of trouble

Unyielding thru the Mts. Of despair and Valleys of sorrow…a strong oak

For this reason he came from heaven down and died on Calvary

Got off that cross and got in you and me….that we might live by the power, the word on the inside

Till we can truly sing…”SOMETHING ON THE INSIDE WORKING ON THE OUTSIDE, I KNOW THERE’S BEEN A CHANGE IN ME.”

Repeat: It’s revelation: I’m growing to walk on my own by the POWER in me.

That Word is a power, a wonder working power…power to walk right

Power to talk right…power to live right….power.

To overcome all my problems…all my disappointments, all my trials

Trials that come only to make me strong…IT’S THIS JESUS IN ME

The Invitation

IF you haven’t….TRY IT UNTILL YOU FIND ITS TRUE

The Word says: Cast every care on him for he cares for you…its true

The word says: Perfect Love casts out all fear….its true

The word says: As you believe so shall it be to you …..its true

The word says: Whatever you ask in his name shall be given…its true

The word says: Resist the devil and he will flee…its true

The word says: Fear not little flock for it is his will to give you the kingdom,,True

The word says: He’s able to keep you from falling and present you faultless before the throne….its true

Text: Luke 2:7-14

Thot: The Humble birth of a King (King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus)

As we look to celebrate Christmas, it’s origin being told in the story of our text today

The question often asked, “Why did God chose to introduce to the world his only begotten son of His royal realm, in such lowly fashion as given in our text.

I feel  led of Spirit today to believe there were two reasons Jesus, the babe of royal birth was born in such an unbefitting manner, a stinky manger,  with but hay for a pillow

The Christmas story tells , it was because there was no room in the inn of Bethlehem

But considering His father, God , is all knowing….I do believe it was pre-determined in the heavens, that’s Jesus would be born in this lowly fashion

His birth first announced to some lowly shepherds, clothing reeking with the smell of sheep and born in a smelly manger.

In thoughtful reflection of the story, I’ve come to believe there were two important lessons to be learned from his birth.

The very nature of this birth, can be seen as a “Revelation” that would be well men take heed

First to give a clear message, he came not as Lord OVER men, but a humble servant TO men.

He was clothed in Humility, which is the opposite of “PRIDE” that God hates

Pride, Beloved is the major problem with world today, men over the world, as bible teaches, thinking more of themselves than they ought.

Pride had its beginning with Satan in heaven, causing him to desire to place his throne above God’s.

It’s the ugly desire of many in world today, men wanting to be above his fellowman

All Adam’s children, but some thinking selves more than their brother.

Lord suffer be so, I want to share the song of Moses with you on New Years Sunday, certain will give greater understanding to men of just who they are.

But Pride: Makes a man want to stand out in the crowd…see folk looking all crazy..PRIDE

Pride makes a man covetous, wanting things that belong to another

Pride: makes a man Boastful of what he has

Pride make a man, Believe That he needs to make no changes or accommodations for Pride tells him he is just all right as he is. (God’s gift to us)

Pride: causes a man to resist and even reject Truth

It is the cause of hatred among nations and peoples, like Satan, wanting to lift their thrones above the other.

Now the story tells of how the Shepherds were watching their sheep that night, an angel of the Lord came upon them, Lowly shepherds no doubt smelling of sheep….men of no significance

But to them the angel came. Bethlehem had men there of every country, noble renown and wealthy men….but to the lowly Shepherds the Angel came

This comes as a revelation to men, Jesus would become the lamb of God,

Yes, a lamb as the Shepherds watched by night….

A lamb the most humble of the animal kingdom…as the shepherds watched….

Now, if further read of the Christmas story, we find, that there were some wise men who traveled from afar, Wise men, coming to see the child in the manger

To behold for themselves the “Reason of this season”

Thank God amidst all the foolish minds of this day and time

There are yet some wise men who seek him

Wise men who behold the beauty of his creation and know there must be a God somewhere

Wise men, who understand a man needs his God, like a dry dessert flower needs a drop of rain…a bird its nest, the fish its water…a nursing child its mother

As the stream needs a  river and the river needs a Ocean. MAN NEEDS GOD

Who one wise man asks…Sends the sunshine and rain, that brings forth the golden grain

Wise men, who realize a dying sinner needs of a living Savior

Wise men, looking for a city like father Abraham…a city that has some foundations

You can lean on, depend on…trust in …I come tell you that

There is such a city….Jesus of Nazareth

Born in a lowly manger, wrapped up in swaddling clothes

Jesus , that has become the Lily of the valley, bright and morning star

The Fairest of 10,000 to my soul

Text: Ps. 105:17-19 & Gen. 45:7,8

Thot: There is a word for you that will take you from hardships to Hallelujah

One of The first sermon preached recounted the story of Israel from bondage to the promised land, entitled “From Hardship to Hallelujah”

At close of the Black History month celebrated by many, we cite the likeness of Black American Christians, brought thru their ancestry from slavery to the promised land, that land being none other than “The Kingdom of God” in which we reside. (Coming to us here in America) “slaves, hear Joseph “Gen.45: 7.8”

The lesson in the verses of our text, alludes to The Bible story of Joseph,  beginning  in book of Gen. 37^th  chapter…a story we have often heard for it has been often preached.

As we revisit this familiar story on this communion Sunday, it is our prayer that it might encourage and strengthen our faith in God’s love and provision

*The story of Joseph, sold as a slave to Egypt. “Not the Negro but Jews first to be sold into slavery.” (Joseph 17 years old in prime of life..oh what others went thru to teach us what God and will and can do)

Served in Potiphar’s house “Promoted to head of house for his happy spirit and demeanor. Truthfully, his attitude toward servanthood was exactly God’s word to all found in the unpleasant position of  servanthood; He was accused by his master’s wife of  misbehavior

            Put in prison …There he languished for  2 yrs or more

But then came the intervention of his God..God who rules bible teached in the affairs of men….God who never forgets who you are, what you are and where you are…..there in prison he languished.

Until two fellow prisoners, a baker and butler of Pharoah’s house had dreams that Joseph interpreted for them.

The story tells how the Chief butler was let out of prison and again served Pharoah, just as Joseph had seen the interpretation of the butler’s dream

Some two years later,  Pharoah himself had a troubling dream no could interpret,

And as it where, his butler remembered that Joseph was an interpreter of dreams in prison….Resulting in Pharoah sending for him from  prison

You heard the familiar story I won’t recant, but Joseph able by God to interpret Pharoah’s dream was made ruler over all the kingdom under the Pharoah only.

You heard how his high position, during a famine in the land,  resulted in him having to feed and care for his father and brothers that had sold him….I hear Joseph saying to his ashamed and fearing brothers, I mean you no harm, “For what you meant for evil, God meant it for good, to bring this situation to pass, that I would be able to feed my family in the time of this famine.

I will not share the story in full today, but I trust you will read it for yourself and be blessed.

But today I want to leave you with the blessed assurance that whatever difficulties and suffering you man face in life, as long as you are a child of God, Joseph’s story is given for you to understand that whatever it may be God meant it for good

Good for they who love him…Good to they who serve him…Good to they who Obey him”

Want to encourage you to know that there is;  as with all God’s children….”A WORD DOWN LIFE’S OFTEN TURBULENT JOURNEY FOR YOU”

NOW I DON’T KNOW THE WORD OUT ON YOU….ALL WILL NOT BE A JOSEPH LIKE EXPERIENCE, BUT I DO KNOW …THERE IS A  word for you that will meet you at end of your trial? For God said “…”I know the thots I have toward you, for good and not evil to bring you to the expected end

BUT IN THE MEANWHILE THERE IS A SURE WORD FOR YOU, for all God’s children…let me rehearse it in your hearing today

1. No wrong can be done to me for I have a word for my good
2. No man can, Imprison me, Impound me, or impose upon me…”I have a word
3. After tried for awhile , afterwhile..etc.It’s for me
4. For all things work together for good of they love Lord
   1. And if God be for me….more than all against me
   2. They who think can outrun me …lets see who’s standing at finishing line
5. For there is a word to take you from prison to a palace. ,,Thru the Prison of Trail to bring you to the Palace of Promise
   1. From this earthly realm to a heavenly paradise
   2. From this world of trouble to land of the unclouded day
   3. From the storm tossed seas to a that peaceful shore
   4. From land of strife to land of perfect delight
   5. From Joseph’s prison to God’s Paradise
6. Oh, He died to take you there…from earth to glory
7. From Pain and suffering to land of the unclouded day
8. Staple singers sang “I know a place of no crying, no worry and I’ll take you there”…Oh Marva Staples not only one..for I’ve heard of a city…
9. Be encouraged to know “there is a word for you
10. Be emboldened to know…..
11. Be content to know….”There= is
12. Be strengthened to know…..
13. Be reassured to know

• Be Revived to know…..I can make with or without for there is a word for me
• Be satisfied to know in words of hymn that with Jesus here below I can conquer every foe, I can , I can, I can

Invitation: If you are going thru just know the time of your word of deliverance will come.

Time of you success will come…time of your healing will come…your peace will come…

Let this be your song of Praise “Gladly, Gladly will I toil and suffer, just let me walk with Thee.”

Never complain in your trials, for you don’t know what God is doing for your good and after moaning and complaining you don’t  want to be shame when find he did it all for your good.

Text: Mat. 7:15-27

Thot: The I am, I can and I will God

In His Mountain discourse beginning at the 5^th chapter of Matthew, Jesus set in order some 16 Kingdom lessons.

Closing his sermon on the Mt. Jesus, teaches about “Hearing His teaching” Those who hears and doeth his words, is like unto a wise mand, building his house upon a rock

But he that hears and doeth not, is like one who builds upon sand and when the winds and floods came, the house fell and great was its fall.

But today from the 8^th chapter, I want to talk about “When he came down from the mountain with a great multitude following.

A multitude followed, but they would not stay, for that great multitude would dwindle down to just 12 as his teaching ran against what they believed.

So it is yet today, many will follow you, as long as what you say agrees with their thinking, but when you start teaching like Jesus….who said in Luke’s gospel “He that heareth you heareth me and he that despises you despises me.

And tho we may not hear the Word, this bible says, “The foundation,  (the word) of God stands sure. Rather we believe or not, our personal opinions have no place in God’s word.

If it does not agree with this word, it is not worth saying

THE LEPER:

When he came down from the Mt. behold a Leper came and worshipped Him.

The quickest way to get God’s attention, I believe is thru worship, that is why Jesus taught us to pray , Our Father in heaven, Hallowed Be, thy name!  worship

Hear the Leper: Lord, if thou will, you can, make me clean.

And Jesus put forth his hand and touched him, saying, (I will) be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Now I notice, that Jesus did not run from the leper. Or wait for him to mask up.

Listen carefully, Jesus was God/man, physically a man as you

I never read of him being sick or yielding to sinful temptations

Why was this so of him? It was because He believed and was obedient to the word that was in him.

It was Jesus who said that we that had the Word within, would do greater things than he, by belief, faith and obedience to His within.

That is why I don’t put signs of church door,  saying don’t enter if you are sick or don’t have on a mask, for the bible tells me “This is the house of prayer and it is not for me to run from the sick, but lay on hands that they be healed.

And for the life of me, I cannot help but believe God.

I know we are not Jesus, but that is what church is all about, learning to be like Him. If not then the church is useless to us and to Christ who died that we become  like him.

MY Church it is the will of God, that we all learn to stand on and walk in his Promises

Little children rely on Parents, but must grow up. God will not always have angels babysit us, must learn to connect to his power source, “The Word”

Now this leper, know that Jesus could heal him if he would

And Jesus said “I will be thou clean”

I want to suggest to you today, that you don’t really know God until you come to know him as the “I am, I can and  I will God”

Knowing God without knowing He will, is of no real profit to you.

This leper, KNEW “If ask anything in his name, he can and he will…”Jesus I know you can , if you will”

The text teaches 3 things are necessary to really knowing God as the “I will God”

Many of our prayers go unanswered because we do not know him as the “I will God”

When you are burdened with trouble , in need of healing, deliverance. That is what you want to hear him say “I will” ain’t that right

Three things: First we must Know “He is God”…for God said himself, “He that cometh to me must FIRST KNOW that I am God

And beloved when we behold His beautiful, creation and still not believe there is a God, your common senses has been badly damaged and mental acumen has melted away.

David said in his 139^th psalm, I am fearfully I am made , wondrous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well…comes a time in life of sensible men….we “Know right well, there is a God”

Then second thing must know is that “God loves you”  see if you don’t know God loves you , you cannot know what to expect from Him.

But there is no excuse not to know he loves you, for he left his home in glory, came all the way from heaven down, suffered and  died on Calvary, just for you…that’s Love

Then finally, must know and rely on his PROMISES

What confidence and comfort it affords when we know we can rely on His promise

But my friends, you cannot rely on, believe in and have faith in “His promised you don’t know”

This leper KNEW of his promise to “Heal the Sick” I KNOW you can if you will”

Looking back in bible, may wonder how Noah, shut up on the ark with not way to get out, floating on the waters, not knowing where he was going for 40 long days

Could he remain unafraid, at peace, able to comfort his family, may wonder how, let me tell you

He was floating on the promise of God..God that told him “I will destroy all the earth but you, your family and animals will sail upon the raging waters, safe in the Ark.

Noah knew Him as the “I can and I will God”

Then there was Father Abraham, How God commanded he take his only son, Issac and offer him a burnt offering to Him

And bible us, without a word of complaint, Abraham took Isaac up to the Mt. prepared him for a sacrifice, you must wonder, how a man could so easily, so willingly burn his son alive

Well, let me tell you why, Abraham had a promise…before he was born, that He would establish his covenant with Issac and the tribes of Israel would come from his seed.

Needless to say, there could be not seed of a dead Isaac…so Moses went up to the Mt. unafraid, that God would have a ram in the bush.

Moses went up standing on the promise of God of the I can and I will God.

Then there was Joshua, who’s people marched for 7 days around the mighty walls of Jericho, with the priests blowing their trumpets as they marched

Oh, how the men of Jericho must have laughed at Joshua just marching round the walls, but what they did not know is “they were marching on a promise of God..that after they had marched around those walls for 7 days, sounded a long loud blast of the trumpets and went up with a shout, the walls would fall down and fall down they did.

I could go on talking about the promises of the Old Testament, but let me talk about you for a few minutes

You too have a promise for the I am, I can and I will God

Truth is a better promise than of old, for the promise to you is an all comprehensive promise

Short, Brief and Sweet…”Whatsoever you ask in my name , believing shall be done, for as you believe so shall it be unto you.

Oh what a promise….what soever you ask

Just to know…I can and I will, be with you as I was with Daniel in Lion’s den

I can and I will be with you as I was with the Hebrew boys in fiery furnace

I can and I will heal you as the woman sick with issue of blood

I can and I will touch you like I touched the blind man one day

I can and I will stand with you as I stood by Moses at the Rea Sea

I can and I will walk with you thru your valleys of despair

I can and I will be with you in the 6^th trouble and will not leave you in the 7^th

I can and I will hide you in my pavilion, set your feet on the solid rock and make you like a tree planted by the water that shall not, shall not be moved

I will, I will, yes I will, anybody here know that “I can and I will God:? Have you tried him, do you know him? Won’t God do what he said he’d do.

I know he will, for I’v e seen the lightning flashing , I’ve heard the thunder roll…but its all right for he PROMISED NEVER, NEVER,NEVER…TO LEAVE ME ALONE
